About the Event
This comprehensive online program shares in depth all the major applications of drones and drone-based data in context of development. We will be covering the basics of drones and drone-based technologies, understand the applications through discussions on case studies, simulating the projects in real-world challenges, and having hands-on exercises on various operations platforms. We collaborate with global leaders in drone technology to bring to you this best-in-class learning opportunity.
ā
This is an intensive course and would need lots of active involvement from your side. We work really hard to make this course challenging as well as exciting. The course is designed to make you think, act, lead and collaborate - the values that we think are most important in making authentic applications of technologies such as drones and data.Ā
ā
Prior knowledge of drones or having a drone is not at all necessary. This course is most useful for students and professionals who will be using drone technology for development projects and are looking for guidance in either launching or scaling their drone services, seeking project ideas, implementation support or in-depth undertstanding of regulations, possible challenges and standard best practices in the industry. We are open to all genders, nationalities, races, ages and educational backgrounds.Ā
This course is not a drone pilot certification or licensing course and will not lead to authorization from civil aviation to fly drones. The course does not cover much of technical aspects of drones such as parts, assembly, electronics, avionics and automation.Ā
We focus more on field applications, case studies, business use cases, project implementation, challenges, best practices, standards, regulations, team building, stakeholder engagement, fundraising, market opportunities, strategies and similar topics.Ā
The course instills advanced professional skills such as critical thinking, human-centered design, project management, strategic planning, proposal writing, stakeholder analysis, facilitating group discussions, community engagement, leadership in resource-limiting settings, documentation of evidence, data analysis, geospatial image processing, presentation of outcomes, map-making, planning for safety and risk mitigation, and change management. We highlight topics on sustainable development, inclusion, ethics, safety, open data and collaborative problem solving. Ā Ā Ā
The course brings together a diverse global community and in our previous editions has empowered 200+ participants from 20 countries in highly valuable engaging discussion forums. The course has inspired new leaders to launch their drone-based businesses, facilitated new partneships and has even served to introduce potential talent to their future employers.
Our overall course rating has been 4/5 for both the editions and we have received very encouraging reviews from the participants.
ā
We hope you make the most of this opportunity and not just learn, but lead the most valuable drone operations for your community!
